We Require
-
One year of professional library experience
-
Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Associated (ALA) accredited school

Experience as a supervisor or lead

Job Contributions

Interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned branch staff and volunteers
-
Schedules staff and authorizes leave to ensure an equitable distribution of work and adequate staffing

Maintains vibrant and attractive collections by employing merchandising techniques, presenting engaging displays, and following adopted collection maintenance practices
-
Acts on behalf of the Large Branch Manager in their absence

Identifies needs and provides recommendations for improving branch operations (use of space, equipment, staffing, training, etc.)

Assists with establishing, evaluating, and revising branch goals, objectives, policies, and procedures

Plans and conducts programs for the public

Oversees the maintenance, safety, and security of the branch
-
Assists with establishing, evaluating, and revising branch goals, objectives, policies, and procedures

Acts as a liaison to outside organizations and serves on standing and/or ad-hoc committees
Working Conditions
-
Work is performed in a library setting, typically consisting of office or administrative work, and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
-
Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, and walk/stand to a significant degree
