The City of Coolidge is currently hiring for Library Manager and are looking for experienced, motivated and talented individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, and five (5) years public library management experience including three (3) years supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees and coordinates City library collections, systems, technology, and services. Ensures the provision of quality library services, resources, materials and equipment to community members and library patrons.
  • Oversees and coordinates with staff regarding the development and implementation of library programs and services to meet the needs of the community. Develops and improves library collections, materials, services, and technology. Monitors and ensures library materials are properly shelved and available to patrons. Coordinates library collections through selection, regular weeding, and replacement. Approves donations to be added to library collection, coordinates selection of memorial and gift purchases.
  • Plans, evaluates and implements an integrated computer system to meet the growing needs of the library and the community.
  • Develops, implements and administers departmental budget; monitors expenditure; prepares purchase orders and processes invoices for payment. Authorizes the purchase of library materials and leased items. Purchases and/or recommends equipment and materials for in-house and patron use. Supervises, trains and monitors the performance of assigned personnel; monitors work flow and the quality of service provided to patrons.
  • Recommends and implements long-term goals and objectives for the library as determined by City Manager, City Council, and Library Board.
  • Develops, implements, recommends, monitors, and ensures compliance with Library policies and procedures; establishes Library hours of operation. Serves on relevant committees and attends library related meetings.
  • Supervises departmental public relations efforts and serves as library spokesperson.
  • Performs circulation desk functions as required; provides customer service to library patrons; responds to inquiries and requests for information.
