The Town of Prescott Valley invites you to apply for the position of Librarian - Adult Services.

The Adult Services Librarian leads and supports the Adult Services team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work environment. This role designs and delivers engaging adult programs, curates and maintains a diverse and responsive collection, and provides high-quality services that connect the community with opportunities for learning, enrichment, and discovery.

 

Examples of Duties

 

IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL: 

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate adult library programs and services, as well as oversee collection development and maintenance, ensuring they reflect community needs, support lifelong learning, and align with best practices.
  • Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals to expand programs, services, and resources.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training; serve as Person in Charge in the absence of library leadership.
  • Work with other Library department teams to deliver integrated services and strengthen community impact.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies; troubleshoot hardware and software issues; integrate digital tools to enhance services.
  • Compile and analyze usage statistics, program data, and other metrics to inform planning and demonstrate outcomes.

 

 

Typical Qualification

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Library Science or closely related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a public library. We will also consider applications if candidate will be receiving a Master’s Degree within 6 months.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
