Job Description

Yavapai County Library District is seeking a skilled Library Network Administrator to oversee the professional, administrative, and technical operations related to the Yavapai Library Network (YLN).  This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration, functionality, and advancement of network services across all libraries throughout Yavapai County.   

The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in library operations, library automation, and/or systems analysis, along with at least two years of supervisory experience.   We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to lead a forward-thinking network that supports a vibrant library community.  

Hiring salary range:  $76,943.16 to $98,102.53 depending on qualifications.

Major Duties, Responsibilities

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves technical and administrative issues related to the YLN.
  • Hires, trains, supports, supervises, and performs timely evaluations of YLN support staff.
  • Leads the YLN, including fiscal oversight, stakeholder communications, and strategic planning.
  • Serves as chair of the YLN’s Steering Committee and Executive Committee and as liaison to the governing authorities of the YLN.
  • Manages all contracts involving the YLN.
  • Manages vendor relationships and exercises fiscal oversight of contracts, projects, request for proposals and procurements.
  • Responsible for the implementation and day-to-day operations of vendor-supplied hardware and software.
  • Responsible for system security, database integrity and access.
  • Serves as back-up system administrator for the YLN’s integrated library system.
  • Prepares and makes public presentations at departmental, county, organizational or community meetings and/or forums.
  • Assists in necessary training to network members.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: 
Master’s degree in Library Science, Computer Science, or directly related field.

Experience: 
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in library operations, library automation, and/or systems analysis work; to include two (2) years of supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.

Additional Requirements: 
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
