General Duties:
- Design, provide, and assess contextualized information literacy instruction in both online and face to face modalities; Serve as embedded librarian in selected courses;
- Assist students, faculty, staff and administrators in accessing relevant, reliable, accurate information, providing reference consultations, demonstrations and workshops, and participating in the Library’s live chat service;
- Develop strategies for the Library’s deployment of emerging technology services, spaces and projects including makerspaces, digital media production rooms, and VR studios;
- Produce research guides, tutorials, and other resources to promote and support student learning through the use of library materials, tools and services;
- Assist in developing and maintaining the library collection as a resource for students, staff, faculty, and administrators;
- Engage in outreach and promotional activities to the campus and community; Serve as a liaison librarian to selected academic programs;
- Support instructional faculty in the curricular integration of library technology tools and resources;
- Coordinate the daily operations of the East Campus Library makerspace, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for patrons to innovate and experiment with technologies and tools;
- Maintain competency and currency in librarianship and emerging technologies;
- Represent the department and/or campus on college-wide committees;
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students and utilize a collegial style in all forms of communication.

Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications requirements for faculty positions are governed by our faculty qualification standards. This position is in an Occupational/Workforce discipline and requires the following to obtain Pima Community College teaching certification:
- Master’s degree from a library and information studies program accredited by the American Library Association.
The selected candidate will:
- Work a flexible schedule including afternoons and evenings as needed to meet student demand
- Possibly work at more than one Pima Community College Campus, depending on need
- Work in multiple modalities, including in-person and online
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of or experience with current and emerging digital and maker technologies (including, but not limited to: Laser Cutters, 3D Printers, Sewing Machines, digital media production hardware and software, VR equipment, etc.) as they contribute to the needs of students and researchers.
- Collection development experience
- Academic library experience
- Experience creating web-based content such as research guides, tutorials, etc.
- Experience with course management software
- Experience in pedagogical approaches that feature making, tinkering, innovation, problem-based learning, design thinking, rapid prototyping, or similar
