Responsibilities
- Work with faculty to design and develop student learning outcomes, assignments, and assessments that promote student success and mastery.
- Collaborate with faculty and library colleagues to identify and support student success and faculty research needs. Share this knowledge in order to help Cline Library colleagues understand and collaboratively respond to user needs.
- Manage needed resources, services, and partnership opportunities in the areas of Arts and Letters and Honors to meet curriculum and accreditation standards.
- Work closely with the TLRS team and the Office of the Vice President for Research to develop and support sponsored research projects in the humanities and other relevant disciplines.
- Monitor trends in research, publishing, and scholarly communication.
- Provide face-to-face and online instruction to support students at the Flagstaff campus, statewide community campuses, NAU Online, and Personalized Learning.
- Provide individual or group research consultations and assistance to students and faculty in the College of Arts and Letters and the Honors College, as well as to students and faculty across the university as needed by TLRS. This can include assistance on search strategies, information retrieval, alert services, and citation management for researchers conducting literature reviews and developing grants.
- Work with library colleagues and university stakeholders to design information literacy assignments, assessments, and activities in support of the General Education program.
- Direct and manage workload to support team, organizational, and institutional strategic goals. Assist with program reviews, grants, and related work.
- Evaluate effectiveness of programs, and implement change when needed.
- Be able to identify and demonstrate the library's value to stakeholders and to increase stakeholder awareness of resources and services.
- Identify and pursue professional development and service opportunities that reflect a commitment to learning, innovation, and excellence in higher education and libraries. Share and integrate professional development and service activities in ways that reflect institutional goals and benefit users, colleagues, the profession, and the community (local, national, or international).
Minimum Qualifications
ALA-accredited graduate degree from a library or information science program or equivalent graduate degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to develop and evaluate learning outcomes, collaborate with faculty to continuously improve assignments, and embed library content and support into curricula, courses, and assignments.
- Knowledge of (coursework, workshops, or experience) instructional design and assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of (coursework, workshops, or experience) digital humanities initiatives.
- Knowledge of (coursework, workshops, or experience) information literacy programs, assignments, and activities, especially in Arts and Letters and Honors.
- Knowledge of (coursework, workshops, or experience) applications that support or enhance online learning environments such as Blackboard Learn, LibGuides, and Camtasia.
- Knowledge of (coursework, workshops, or experience) scholarly communication and open access issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with preference given to candidates who also possess strong Spanish language abilities.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with preference given to candidates with experience at a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
- Ability to set priorities, exercise flexibility in meeting objectives, and manage multiple projects and assignments.
- Experience working with Arts and Letters and/or Honors programs or colleges.
