Responsible for supervision of library employees and management of library functions.
Develops, maintains and communicates library policies, procedures and standards. Participates in strategic planning for the Health Sciences Library, and interacts with other departments to ensure that the library is included in their strategic initiatives.
Manage capital and operating budgets and productivity targets. Adjust as necessary for compliance.
Responsible for the continuous improvement of library services and monitoring of customer satisfaction with library services.
Provides input to the Director of Medical Education and Vice President of Medical Affairs regarding issues pertaining to the effectiveness of library services.
Minimum of 3 years experience in related field required.
2 years supervisory experience.
Master's degree in Library Science, or
Master's in Library and Information Science.
Working knowledge of library web page development tools, such as LibGuides, link resolver software, library catalog software, such as Cybertools, Docline interlibrary loan system, and Biomedical database PubMed.
Must possess a strong commitment to excellent customer service and be able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic, cultural and educational backgrounds
Experience: 5 years in Health Sciences
Skills: Working knowledge of biomedical databases, CINAHL, ClinicalKey, Cochrane Library, DynaMed, OVID, StatRef, and UpToDate. Experience with Digital Commons institutional repository database.
Licensure: Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP).
