About the Position:
This position provides leadership and supervision to frontline staff and collaborates with other departments and organizations to fulfill the library's mission. Manages the development and implementation of new and/or enhanced library programs and services. Works in tandem with other department supervisors, Branch Manager, and Program Coordinators to maintain effective operations of all areas. Oversees scheduling, programming, hiring, training, and evaluation of professional and paraprofessional staff. Regularly serves as Person in Charge, effectively communicating library policies and procedures for patrons and staff. This position works a variable schedule to include a rotation of days, nights, and weekends.

Education and Experience
A Master's degree in library science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited university, or a Master's degree in a related field.
Three years of progressively responsible library experience.
An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to any combination of the following tasks:
Provide and model exceptional customer service by making the customer the first priority.
Establish, maintain, and foster positive, harmonious, professional, and effective working relationships.
Manage, create and/or deliver exceptional programming and educational opportunities within the library, through community outreach, and virtually.
Select, train, evaluate, and supervise paraprofessional and professional staff. Identify, implement, and monitor disciplinary action when required. Identify, plan and oversee projects including grants.
Provide reference, readers' advisory, technology assistance, and other resources to patrons at assigned service points.
Performs other duties as assigned.
