Assists library users, utilizing knowledge of library services and resources; provides interpretation of policies and may recommend potential alternative solutions or exceptions.
Provides intermediate research support and guidance to library users.
Assists library users with circulation needs such as checking out materials, returning materials, and requesting materials from other ASU Library locations
Provides technical assistance to library users as needed.
Provides support to Noble Library’s student supervisor, assisting with hiring, on-boarding, training.
Responsible for the library during the closing shift Friday and Saturday. Ensures proper procedures are followed and monitors the safety of library users, staff, and building.
Performs tasks associated with material status searches for Noble Library, including missing, in-transit, etc.
Maintains library hours and study room hours and policies on library websites
May provide virtual informational services via “Ask a Librarian” chat/email as needed.
Bachelor's degree AND 2 years prior library experience; at least 1 of which is in an academic library or similar setting; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Circulation experience in an academic library
Customer service experience at a high volume Service Desk
Experience meeting deadlines
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience working independently
Evidence of supervisory experience
Experience working with a variety of application software, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Information/reference experience in an academic library
Demonstrated knowledge of library research methods and tools (e.g., online catalog, electronic databases, etc.)
Experience in using an integrated library system, e.g. ExLibris
Demonstrated knowledge of Library of Congress call number classification system
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking Frequent physical demands include stooping, bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds and pushing objects of varying weights up to 100 pounds
Exposure to dust and other airborne materials
Regularly required to access books and other physical items from shelves up to 7 feet in height requiring climbing library ladders
May be required to travel between library locations to deliver and/or retrieve materials using an electric powered cart.

May oversee assignments to student workers to ensure timely completion and/or to provide guidance or assistance to questions
