Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school.
Five (5) years professional library experience.
Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, an Arizona driver's license. In addition, must obtain and maintain a Maricopa County Vehicle Use Permit

Essential Job Tasks
Establishes regional goals and strategic priorities and guides work of library managers and supervisors
Conducts ongoing evaluation of services, policies, procedures and operations for the libraries in the region; works with library managers and supervisors to plan improvements, implement changes, document processes and report results
Responds to customer concerns
Collaborates with Library Administrative Departments to support library operations, solve issues and plan improvements
Monitors budgets; identifies capital needs, library improvements, layout changes and equipment needs
Coordinates with library managers and supervisors to identify programming needs, establish outcomes and define program standards
Coordinates with library managers and supervisors to develop a collection weeding schedule and procedures, conduct circulation analysis and implement collection merchandising techniques
Conducts performance planning with direct reports; models effective methods of performance management; recommends staff training and developmental opportunities
Works with library managers, supervisors and HR to promptly address staff work performance or conduct problems
Identifies opportunities in the community to extend reach and services of the library; represent the Library District to Friends groups, foundations, educational institutions, businesses and governments; assists library managers and supervisors to make critical decisions about when and where to offer outreach services
Travel between branches in the region to provide coverage, conduct programs, attend meetings or training, and travel to the administrative offices required.
