Assists library users in-house and over the phone in locating and utilizing both law library and self-service center resources and information including library forms, web site, applications and legal electronic databases.
Assists library users who are doing research on relevant laws, regulations, cases and legal articles.
Prepares monthly statistical and narrative reports utilizing library integrated information system, technology and spreadsheets.
Assists Director, Law Library in assuring the currency of judicial libraries. Creates and maintains judicial collection databases to include inventory, requests and distributions.
Assists in the maintenance of the online catalog, law library website, forms and informational packets.
Assists in researching and evaluating multi-media equipment, resources and materials for addition to the library collection or use in library operations.
Assists in researching and responding to complex and technical reference questions, and investigating and resolving operational and technical issues.
Makes presentations to customers, schools, organizations and community groups.
Serves on system wide committees, task force or design teams to develop new services and guidelines for implementing programs and services.
Maintains library circulation system, and calculates, collects and accounts for charges for overdue, lost or damaged library materials.
Makes recommendations of new title purchases to the Director.
Maintains and updates Law Library's archive.
Oversees the library in the Director's absence.
Opens and/or closes the library following established guidelines.
A Bachelor's degree in library science or paralegal studies, or a related field and two years of work experience working in a library or legal setting; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education approved by Human Resources.
Preference may be given to candidates who speak Spanish fluently, and have knowledge of legal research and terminology.
