Pima Community College Library seeks a proactive, and student focused librarian for the position of Educational Support Faculty--Librarian. The successful candidate will primarily serve PCC’s online students and faculty with limited responsibilities for support at our Downtown Campus library. The position includes responsibilities for teaching information literacy, providing reference service, engaging in collection development and the identification of OER materials all in support of student success. This opportunity will be for 9- months, 169 days of accountability from July to June.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and provide contextualized information literacy instruction
Assess student learning
Assist students, faculty, staff and administrators in accessing relevant, reliable, accurate information, providing reference consultations, demonstrations and workshops
Produce research guides, tutorials, class materials and other resources to promote and support student learning through the use of library materials and services
Engage in outreach and promotional activities to the campus and community
Assist in developing and maintaining the library collection as a resource for students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
Participate in the development of the college’s virtual resources
Minimum qualifications: Requirements for faculty positions are governed by our faculty qualification standards. This position is in an academic discipline and requires the following to obtain Pima Community College teaching certification:
Master’s degree from a library and information studies program accredited by the American Library Association.
The successful candidate will also possess:
Experience in the development and delivery of effective instruction in online and F2F modalities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with technology
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
Experience providing online reference service and research consultations
Experience creating web-based content.
Ability to work with diverse communities
Appreciation for the Pima Community College mission
Commitment to a user-centered approach
Significant experience with the administration of course management software
Extensive experience with library discovery tools and databases
Familiarity with library support in the adoption of OERs
Experience using webcam and video editing software (i.e. Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline)
Collection analysis experience
Experience with the assessment of student learning
Experience teaching online courses and/or alternative instructional formats
Experience using a Learning Management System, preferably D2L Brightspace
